New Dying Light 2 Gameplay Shows Off New Parkour Moves, Weapons

By Ryan EasbyAugust 24, 2021

New Dying Light 2 gameplay just dropped at the Xbox Gamescom 2021 stream!

The gameplay showed off how the parkour skills in the world of Dying Light 2 Stay Human can best be used to the advantage of you, the player, and how it’s changed from the original game. They also showed off both melee and ranged weaponry, although you’ll often be using close-range weapons. You have to adapt your weapons and adapt to how your enemies decide to approach you.

Techland noted that they’ve put a lot of attention to detail when it comes to the parkour animations. The developers stated that there are thousands of them, making the game look and feel amazing. You can even use a brand-new paraglider to traverse your way across the city, in conjunction with the returning grappling hook. Get ready to swing and fly and jump high over the city.

The gameplay also showed off how you can choose to side with one specific faction throughout the course of the game. Every decision you make will change the world you’re fighting throughout, and the faction you choose might have their own method of dealing with enemies. While one faction would go in all guns blazing, one faction may prefer to be quieter, and approach their enemies with a more stealthy nature.

As the stream noted, Dying Light 2 is all about getting creative.

Ryan Easby is a writer by trade and by passion. He's been playing video games from a young age, with his introduction to gaming being a SNES, while his peers were playing the original Xbox. If you need to talk about Kingdom Hearts, he's your guy. Can often be found dying repeatedly in a game.
