New Aqua Shift Xbox special edition controller announced

By Keith MitchellAugust 3, 2021

If you’re like me, you go crazy whenever a new gaming controller variant is released, and lately, there’s been a bunch of those from the Microsoft camp. Today, Xbox announced the Aqua Shift Xbox controller, priced at $69.99, is now up for pre-order and will be available in stores as of August 31st, 2021.

Coming in this new color called Aqua Shift, this Xbox controller will include rubberized grips that claim to help you keep ahold of your controller during those sweaty gaming sessions.

Textured grip on the triggers, bumpers, and back case makes sure you stay connected to the game no matter how intense things get.

I’m going to hold Xbox to that, and if my controller tends to go flying during a heated session of Death’s Door, I’m going to come calling.

This is the eighth Xbox controller (Xbox Series X|S) released, following the Shock Blue, Pulse Red, Electric Volt, Day strike Camo, and three Space Jam Special Edition controllers. Remember that these newer controllers are backward compatible with the Xbox One, so you can still own them even if you haven’t upgraded to the newest console. Oh, and they work on Windows 7/8/10 and soon Windows 11 PCs as well.

I can’t begin to count how much I’ve spent on the recent special edition Xbox controllers, including the Space Jam 2021 controllers, those of which cost me a pretty penny. Needless to say, I’ve already pre-ordered the Aqua Shift Xbox controller and look forward to adding it to my growing gaming controller library.

Where can you pre-order the Aqua Shift Xbox controller?

Currently, the Aqua Shift Xbox controller can be pre-ordered at the following locations:

  • Best Buy Aqua Shift Xbox controller pre-order: $69.99
  • Amazon Aqua Shift Xbox controller pre-order: $69.99
  • Gamestop Aqua Shift Xbox controller pre-order: $69.99
  • Microsoft Store Aqua Shift Xbox controller pre-order: $69.99
