Bethesda’s Ghostwire: Tokyo Delayed Until 2022

It’s been one delay after another, and it looks like that trend is continuing (thankfully). The latest title to be delayed is the PlayStation 5-exclusive Ghostwire: Tokyo, which will now be released sometime in 2022.

The developer of the title, Tango Gameworks, announced the delay via Twitter.

As you can imagine, the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t help and caused all sorts of issues with development. We also can’t forget that the former creative director, Ikumi Nakamura, departed the company in 2019; that likely didn’t help matters.

On the PlayStation 5 front, this is yet another title that has been delayed. Sure, there are a handful of great titles available for the system, but those are few and fair in between. Not to mention several of those games are also available for the PlayStation 4. Which has sparked the question, do we really need the next-gen console if there’s a lack of games? I can’t answer that question as I’ve been enjoying my PS5.

As for the delay, well, if you follow my work, you should know my response already. I’m all for delaying a game if the developers are given more time to create the game they set out to create. I’m all about the finished product, regardless of how many delays there are.

Look for Ghostwire: Tokyo on the PS5 and PC in 2022.
