Xbox Design Lab Is Finally Back

By Keith MitchellJune 17, 2021
Xbox Design Lab is back

After making a huge hit for anyone who wanted to customize their Xbox One controllers, the Xbox Design Lab disappeared right before the Xbox Series X|S launch. Many had speculated that Xbox was revamping the service and was waiting for the right time to make a comeback. Well, that time is now as Xbox Design Lab made its return today during the Xbox Games Showcase Extended Livestream.

What is Xbox Design Lab?

Xbox Design Lab lets anyone customize their own Xbox controller; we’re talking about every aspect of the controller. The color schemes for the face, the rear, triggers, bumpers, and every button. However, now that the service is back, there are a few slight changes. Gone are the Xbox One controllers, and now everyone can customer the Xbox Series controllers. Which are backward compatible with the Xbox One and the Xbox Series X|S consoles. What’s more, is you can also customize the recent new Xbox controllers; Shock Red, Pulse Blue, and Electric Volt, which was recently released.  There are some new button options as well, including the old-school A/B/X/Y color scheme.

Currently, Xbox Design Lab is only available to those in the US, Canada, and most Western European regions. There’s no word on if or when Xbox will extend this to other locations.

Other than that, you can still customize the controller any way you seem fit. Make your own masterpiece that screams, “This is ME!” Head over to the Xbox Design Lab and get started. Every customize designed controller is priced at $69.99, which is the same price as a standard Xbox Series controller. If you opt to add engraving to the controller, it will cost you an extra $7.99.

I missed out on Xbox Design Lab when it was originally available, but I’m making up for that and have already placed my order for my own masterpiece. I can’t wait to show you all how it looks once it gets here.
