The Pokemon Company has been a powerhouse for years. Not surprising given that they house one of the most popular franchises in the world via Pokemon. But the question has always been just how good they’re doing in terms of sales.
You’d think that with 2020 being the “year of the pandemic” that they’d be doing terribly. However, for the first time ever, The Pokemon Company has released its annual sales figures and they are quite revealing. Mainly because according to Kanpo, they grossed over 1.1 billion dollars in sales in 2020! That’s a record-breaking number for them.
No doubt Pokemon GO had a huge part of that, as well as the continued sales of Pokemon Sword and Shield among their other properties. With NEW Pokemon Snap out now, and Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl coming out later this year, it’s honestly possible that they’ll top that number in 2021.
