‘Space Jam: New Legacy’ Slams Down On July 16 on HBO Max

By William "Shadowz" KokApril 3, 2021

It is time slam jam once again. Warner Bros. has released a new trailer announcing the release date for Space Jam: New Legacy. It will release on HBO Max on July 16th.

We see Lebron James at his household wanting his son Dom to attend basketball camp to hone his skills. However, he doesn’t want to go. Arguing that he wont allow him to do what he wants. When they are suddenly separated by a glitch in reality, they are taken into whats is called the Serververse. The antagonist played by Don Cheadle, has Dom as the only way to get him back is a game of basketball. He is sent to Tune World to amass his team and Lebron’s journey begins.

There are a lot of classic, nostalgic, characters and cameos in this trailer. From classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon’s like Flintstones, Scooby Doo, Huckleberry Hound, to 90’s movies like the Iron Giant, to recent movies like IT’s Pennywise and Batman. Seems that they are doing a Ready Player One playbook and putting as much recognizable characters in this movie. Lebron  even wrote that he want to get Gandalf and King Kong onto his team. It is going to be a fun Easter Egg hunt to see spot characters

They also showed  that they will mix different styles in this movie. From the classic cartoon animations of the shows, to more recent CGI  movies. Seems that Warner Bros. know that if you are old fans who watch the original Space Jam, they got you covered. A fun fan-service filled movie that will be an enjoyable time for anyone.

Space Jam: New Legacy will release on HBO Max for 31 days from it’s theatrical release on July 16th.
