People Can Fly Have Addressed The Outriders Inventory Wipe Bug

As of today, People Can Fly has released a new patch that has corrected the Outriders inventory wipe bug that has been making the rounds ever since the demo.

According to the developer, this patch will preview the inventory wipe bug from happening again. They’ll continue to monitor the situation to ensure that this problem has been 100% corrected.

We have just released a patch on Steam, Epic, Xbox and PlayStation platforms that addresses the bug that has, since the previous update, been causing the inventories of certain players to be wiped.

If your inventory has been impacted, please note that our efforts to restore your items are a separate process from today’s released patch. Restoring the inventory of affected players is still our highest priority, while today’s patch is intended to prevent the issue from continuing to occur. The restoration process is run via our server database and does not require a patch to be implemented. We will have news of this very soon.

With this new patch, there is still the issue of being countering an inventory wipe following multiplayer issues, such as a failed connection or being dropped. IF this happens, they are asking that you first try to restart your Outriders game, which “should” make your inventory reappear.

That said, they are asking that if anyone does happen to still encounter the inventory wipe, to contact them the Outriders sub-Reddit.

I haven’t had a chance to play the game since the patch was released and I’m really hoping this bug has been smashed. While I enjoy playing Outriders, it is the online portion that really makes the game. Not being able to play co-op sessions due to being fearful that my inventory could be gone in an instant, kept me from going online. I had already gotten spooked once and thought I lost it all. I didn’t want to attempt to go online since then. I’ll give it another go, fingers crossed nothing negative happens.

Outriders is a looter shooter that is currently available to play on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Stadia, and PC.
