Halo Infinite Will Support Cross-Play and Cross-Progression Between Platforms

While it was heavily debated if Xbox’s Halo Infinite would support both cross-play and cross-progression, the company has finally announced that it will support both. In Xbox’s commitment to PC gaming (Xbox Wire), the company revealed that not only are they doubling down for PC gaming. But they’re also going

We know many of you play across more than just your PC, including on Xbox and mobile. That’s why we’re excited to announce Halo Infinite will support multiplayer cross-play and cross-progression when it releases later this year. That means if you’re playing on PC, you can play with your friends on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It also means that your multiplayer customization and progress will follow you across all platforms.

That’s not all, as Xbox also dropped a few extra features that will make their way into Halo Infinite. This includes ultrawide monitor support, key binds, and a bunch of advanced graphic options. According to the article, Xbox wants to ensure that Halo impacts the PC, just as it did on consoles. They fully build a thriving community that embraces Halo fans on both the Xbox and PC platforms. Sounds like a great idea to me.

We have been working closely with the PC community to ensure that Halo Infinite offers a premier PC experience, including highly desired features such as support for ultrawide and super ultrawide screens, triple keybinds, a wide variety of advanced graphics options and more. We want to make sure that Halo is serving the PC community.

As of now, Halo Infinite is still in development, with monthly updates being released. While the game was originally slated to be released alongside the Xbox Series X|S, 343i and Xbox decided that the game needed more development time – which was the correct call. While there’s no ETA of a release, everything that Xbox and 343i is doing right now will (hopefully) ensure that when the game does finally get released, it will be worth the wait.

I can’t wait that I am a bit disappointed that we’re not playing Halo Infinite right now, but as they say – good things come to those that wait. So until then, I’ll continue to watch the original Halo Infinite gameplay premiere.
