Ryu and Chun-Li Are Crossing Over To Fortnite

By Keith MitchellFebruary 19, 2021

What started as a rumor has finally been confirmed by Epic Games, and now Street Fighter’s Ryu and Chun-Li are making an appearance in Fortnite. Yes, Fortnite, a game that has just as many crossovers as Capcom’s Versus series. And it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down; Marvel Avengers and X-Men, Star Wars, Aqua, Batman, Borderlands 3, Ghostbusters, John Wick, Master Chief, and so many others.

And now, we’re getting Street Fighter! I’d love to know if Capcom approached Epic Games or if it was the other way around.

As seen in the short teaser, we’re shown a Street Fighter II arcade cabinet with Ryu and Chun-Li, about to square off against each other. Then out of nowhere, Agent Jonesy from Fortnite appears, pulls, and summons the two fighters into the realm of Fortnite. And for a short moment, we’ve given a look at the Fortnite skins of Ryu and Chun-Li.

Take a look at the teaser for yourself.

Both iconic characters will be available in Fortnite on February 20th, 2021. No word on how much either skin will cost or how to access them. Now, this won’t be the first time we’ve seen a Street Fighter character wielding a gun, either. That would be in Monster Hunter World, as Ryu was also featured as an armor set.

But seriously, why does Ken keep getting stiffed? He’s just as cool as Ryu, and he has a flaming uppercut!
