Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake hit with indefinite delay

By Poch SaldanaFebruary 5, 2021

In a recent post from the official Prince of Persia Twitter account, it was announced that the relatively recently revealed remake of the 2003 classic would be facing a delay due to lukewarm reception from long-time fans.

First shown to the public last September in an Ubisoft Forward and initially slated to launch last month, The Sands of Time Remake was met with immediate criticism due to the title’s somewhat lackluster visuals. YouTube commenters on the official reveal trailer berate the game with comparisons to Wii-level visual fidelity and even parallels to a student project.

It seems as though the complaints weren’t falling on deaf ears as the remake was pushed back to March 2021 and now delayed indefinitely. The developers promise, “to deliver a remake that feels fresh while remaining faithful to the original,” and the incessant delays may be a sign of developers hard at work to deliver a worthy product.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is being and published by Ubisoft and is set to launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store, and UPLAY+.

Big fan of games, writing, and writing about games! Two things Poch will always stand by--the Vita was ahead of its time and the world is a better place with a new Rhythm Heaven on the horizon.
