New ‘The Falcon and the Winder Solider’ looks like a damned good time

By Keith MitchellFebruary 7, 2021

Tango and Cash of the MCU

Now that the Super Bowl is here, Disney and Marvel have released the newest trailer for the upcoming action/buddy adventure, ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.’ And damn, this series looks like it’s going to be a fun ride.

Following the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ Captain America has retired, passing his shield to Sam Wilson, better known as the Falcon. But now, we’re in a new world and perhaps not the world that is ready for a new Captain America. And it looks like our old pal, Zemo, is back, and this time, he’ll be rocking the signature purple mask worn in the comic books. The last time we saw Zemo, he was captured by Black Panther and placed in the government’s confines. So how is he free?

We also have to wonder what role US Solider will play, and you did see him in eh trailer, didn’t you? That wasn’t Captain America or Sam running through the stadium and giving high-fives. Could this be following the comic books as well, when Steve Rogers stepped down as Captain America, prompting the government to find a replacement. If so, this is going to have a pretty interesting dynamic. If you’ve watched ‘Jessica Jones’, then you’d know of the Power Broker, who worked alongside Karl Malus. In the comics, Power Broker the same person who gave US Agent his superhuman strength. Something, something, connections.

There’s also a new baddie or organization who’s doing some stuff they shouldn’t, but we don’t see enough to know what exactly they are.  It’s good to see that Sam and Bucky’s chemistry in the past movies, especially Captain America: The Winter Soldier, is returning as well. I expect plenty of funny yet witty one-liners in every episode.

And what about those costumes? New gadgets and everything… yes, sorry, I am geeking out just a bit. I’ve been a fan of both Captain America and The Falcon for as long as I was able to read a comic book. Not only did we get movies that to some of us were larger than life, but we’re also getting a TV series that is coming straight out of the pages of the comics.

I can’t begin to tell you how I’ve been waiting for this series to start, and we’re just one month away now. Just as ‘WandaVision,’ another fantastic show from Disney and Marvel, finishes up, this one will start. So, mark your calendars for March 19, 2021, my fellow Captain America/The Falcon/Winter Soldier fans. It’s almost here!
