343 Industries to release monthly Halo Infinite Updates

It looks like 343 Industries is ready to starting about Halo Infinite again and has stated they’ll start releasing info every month.

This news comes via the Halo subreddit from 343 Industries’ Community Director, Brian “Ske7ch” Jarrard, who replied to a post regarding the lack of Halo Infinite news as of late. The big take away is that 343i will provide monthly updates on Halo Infinite, which is fantastic news for those looking forward to the title. While not publically mentioned by the company, I imagine it will be similar to the Halo Master Chief Collection updates or likely, replacing them since the game is now completed for Xbox and PC.

Has it though? Not saying it’s right or a good thing, but considering we went 12 month stretches of total darkness and our last update was on December 8, I don’t think there’s any cause to worry. Keep in mind that many of us around the studio were out of office for 2 or more weeks to end the year and then it takes time to get back into the swing of things, etc.
We also confirmed our Fall release window in that update, so now it’s clear we have some runway ahead of us and some time to go. That said, we’re committed to at least monthly high level updates and the next “Inside Infinite” is coming out this week! This month we’re talking with members of the sandbox team to share some insights into their vision for Halo Infinite and the work they’re doing. To manage expectations, this won’t have world premier big screenshots or huge things like a date announce, but our goal is to offer our community more context and insights into our team and the game we’re making while we’re all awaiting the larger beats and full marketing machine later this year.

There’s no word on when we’ll get the first update, but the assurance that we’ll get one each month up until the title’s release is exciting. I can’t wait to see what the game’s new build looks like. Not to mention how both the single-player campaign and multiplayer is shaping up.

As you recall, Halo Infinite was delayed from its original release of 2020 to Fall 2021. 343i delayed the title due to the poor reception of the game being shown to the public for the first time, which made the company reconsider the game’s status. While Halo Infinite was supposed to release alongside the Xbox Series X|S release, this delay will provide the dev with more than enough time (hopefully) to get the game to where the company wants it to be.

Personally, I’m excited about the news. Yes, I’m looking forward to Halo Infinite, but I want to see the 343i course correct the series. To show that Halo is in good hands, which is something that the studio has been trying to do ever since Bungie left the picture. After the release of Halo 4 and 5, faith in the studio has declined, and Halo Infinite was going to be the “Halo is Back!” that I was looking forward to. Then Craig happened, and the rest is history.

Halo Infinite will be released on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Window PC when it launches later this year.
