New The Callisto Protocol Extended and Uncensored Trailer Released

Just a few minutes ago, Striking Distance Studios took to Discord to answer questions about its upcoming SCI-FI horror title, The Callisto Protocol.

If you’ve been following our coverage, you’d know that I’m a big fan of Dead Space, which several former members who worked on that series are now involved with this studio. Thus, I’m hyped about this new title and have been following it as closely as possible.  Today, not only did I get some answers regarding the title, but the team also released an extended trailer for the game. A much gorier trailer, so if you have a weak stomach, maybe you don’t watch it.

Oh, and if you do watch it, maybe do it with some headphones on. The audio in this trailer is creepy.

Check out the trailer below.

If you’ve watched it, you’ll see a key difference here; the same alien that attacked the poor guy still does the same thing. But now we see just how he’s attacked, and now it doesn’t look like it’s just an attack. It’s more like the alien is infecting him.

Shortly after those events play through and the logo airs, there are still a few seconds left on the trailer. And it’s then that the trailer cuts back to the now-dead character, who suddenly gets reanimated. So we’re dealing with some sort of space zombie? Nercomporh or something very similar – more Dead Space connections?

This definitely raises more questions, questions that the Striking Distance Studios team has stated they’ll answer, but not just yet. There’s still an entire year before the game is released, so they have plenty of time to tease the heck out of us.

The Callisto Protocol releases in 2022; we don’t know what platforms yet, but it’s likely safe to assume it will arrive on all next-gen consoles and PC.

Lastly, if you haven’t checked out our recent The Callisto Protocol article, you’re missing out as we connect how the trailer drops several Dead Space references. Dead Space fans, you’re going to want to check that out.
