Mass Effect Will Continue, new teaser shown during The Game Awards Show

By Keith MitchellDecember 10, 2020

Was that Liara T’Soni?

Whether it ends up being a good or bad thing, EA and Bioware have made it known that Mass Effect isn’t finished. In fact, justing from the new teaser shown during The Games Award Show, Bioware has a new story to tell.

In the very short teaser, we see what looks to be the aftermath of Mass Effect 3. This means that MA: Andromeda’s story, despite the effort, is done. This all looks, post-Commander Shepard. Here we see a lot of space debris, along with some chatter that sounds like a massive battle, which would be the result of the events that take place during Mass Effect 3. We then cut to an Asari, who’s making her way through a tundra world, complete with a Harbingerin the background. Eventually, the Asari notices an N7 insignia on the ground, picks it up, and then looks into the foreground. As such, we get a look at her face, and it resembles Liara T’Soni, from the first three Mass Effect games.

Anyway, check out the teaser below.

Update: Added Official Teaser from Bioware

That’s all we get, but as a Mass Effect fan, it’s more than enough. I know I’ve been hyper-critical of Mass Effect ever since Mass Effect 3, but for a good reason. The ending of that game was so controversial (good look it up) and forced Bioware to go back and revert things due to fans revolting. Then Mass Effect: Andromeda came around and, well… it was crap. Great ideas that didn’t amount to anything, and in my honest opinion, tarnished the series’s reputation. I’m hopeful that whatever Bioware is planning will do the series right and that they aren’t over-reaching, especially since Bioware is still working on relaunching Anthem (Anthem 2.0) and the newly shown off Dragon’s Age 4.
