Cuphead’s The Delicious Last Course DLC has been delayed

Yep, it’s delayed again.

Fans looking forward to the already delayed DLC for Cuphead aren’t going to be too thrilled to find out that Studio MDHR has delayed it, again. Cuphead’s The Delicious Last Course expansion, which missed it’s 2019 release date, will now miss its 2020 release as well.

Studio MDHR cites that due to the ongoing pandemic, which has forced developers to work from home, they have delayed the expansion.

Throughout development, we’ve challenged ourselves to put everything we learned from making Cuphead into the quality of The Delicious Last Course’s animation, design, and music,” Studio MDHR wrote on Twitter. “Meeting this standard has been extremely challenging for us amid the global pandemic that has affected so many of our fellow developers. Rather than compromise on our vision in response to COVID, we’ve made the difficult decision to push back the release of The Delicious Last Course until we are confident it will delight the Cuphead community the way we feel it should.

We first heard about this expansion back in 2018, which was announced for a 2019 release. However, Studio MDHR decided to delay the DLC as it was now being released for the PC, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch, a new platform for the title. Since then, Cuphead has been released onto the PlayStation 4 and is also slated to receive DLC’s final piece.

As of now, Studio MDHR has yet to provide a new release date for The Delicious Last Course, which is for the better. If there’s no release date, the developer doesn’t have to worry about meeting a deadline and can take as much time as they need.
