Static Shock Movie Being Produced By Michael B. Jordan

By Todd BlackOctober 17, 2020
Static Shock

A little over a month back on the first day of DC Fandome, a couple of major announcements were made. A key one among them was that the Milestone Media brand would be returning to comics with books focused on their classic stars of Static, Icon, Rocket, and more. Anything thing they announced was that a live-action movie based on their most popular hero, Static, better known to the world as Static Shock, was coming via DC/WB. Now though, we know a key member in that production team: Michael B. Jordan.

Yes, Adonis Creed and Kilmonger is coming to help producer the Static Shock movie via his brand Outlier Society.

He told THR after the announcement,

“I’m proud to be a part of building a new universe centered around black superheroes; our community deserves that. Outlier Society is committed to bringing to life diverse comic book content across all platforms and we are excited to partner with Reggie and Warner Bros. on this initial step.”

For those that don’t know, Jordan and his production company have done a lot over the years, including producing shows like Raising Dion and Jordan himself being both Executive Producer and star of the Rooster Teeth series Gen: Lock which is having season 2 on HBO Max. Plus, he helped produce Creed II. So he is more than qualified for doing this production role.

Plus, after his massively successful and praised role as Kilmonger, there is little doubt that he understand the importance of this film. Fans are VERY excited about the Static Shock movie, and they are hoping that the movie lives up to the creators of Static, Dwayne McDuffie, Denys Cowan, Michael Davis, and Derek Dingle and how they wrote and felt about the character.
