“Power Your Dreams” trailer signals the start Xbox’s next-generation marketing campaign

By Keith MitchellOctober 9, 2020

Yesterday, Microsoft teased the beginning of its Xbox Series S|X commercials, stating that today they’d reveal the entire trailer. Well, today’s the day and they have released the “Power Your Dreams” trailer as promised. And with this, they have officially released their first next-generation of consoles marketing spree.

In this new trailer, we see Daniel Kaluuya (‘Black Panther’ & ‘Get Out’), who after a hard day at work, picks up his Xbox controller and is instantly transported into multiple gaming worlds and experiences.

During the trailer, we get to see familiar Microsoft properties such as Halo and Minecraft shown. As well as the Xbox Series X which is sitting next to the TV. There’s a pair of headphones that Daniel picks up, that I’m still trying to figure out what exactly they are. There’s even a Microsoft surface tablet sitting on the couch. And while this seems like simple item placement, it’s sending a message that no matter where you game, you’re part of the Microsoft/Xbox ecosystem.

In the end, it asks the viewer “We ever should we begin”. Which again, poses the question of where are you going to be gaming on. Will you play on the Xbox Series X or S? Will you play those same games on the PC? Or maybe you’ll utilize both and enjoy the benefits.

Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S releases on November 10th, 2020, in North America and World Wide. Did you manage to get one pre-ordered? Or will you be sticking with the PC or even the Xbox One for now? Let us know in the comments.
