Minecraft Steve comes to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on October 13

By Poch SaldanaOctober 3, 2020

After the surprising announcement just a couple of days ago, Nintendo held a special character showcase for Minecraft’s Steve and Alex just before the beginning of Minecraft Live. The broadcast detailed the unique characteristics of the newcomer’s moveset and much like previous DLC characters, it seems that Sakurai and his team went above and beyond to stay faithful to the original game. A few Mii costumes were announced as well. They featured the foreseen Minecraft skins—Creeper, Pig, and Diamond Armor—but also revealed some unexpected crossovers which include Bomberman, Travis from No More Heroes, and most surprisingly Gil from the influential Tower of Druaga.

The tail-end of the video finally revealed the release date of the new character which will be on October 13th of this year; the character pack will include a new stage, new music, the character itself and will go for $5.99. The fighter is included in the $30 Fighter Pass Vol. 2 if previously purchased. Steve is the 2nd inclusion, ARMS’ Min Min was released last June, of the 6 characters to be released in this new Fighter Pass though it will be difficult for future characters to top the absurdity of this inclusion.

Big fan of games, writing, and writing about games! Two things Poch will always stand by--the Vita was ahead of its time and the world is a better place with a new Rhythm Heaven on the horizon.
