It’s almost time to go stupid fast again

R8 Games, the studio behind the futurist racing title, Pacer, has announced that the game will officially be launched on October 29th, 2020. The game will be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox One.

SUIT UP!

We're excited to finally announce that #PACER will be launching on October 29th – NEXT WEEK!

Some of you may know this game under a different title as it was previously called Formula Fusion, a few years back. When R8 Games first pitched the game via Kickstarter, Formula Fusion was the name and an early version was also released onto Steam back in August 2015. It wasn’t until later in 2019 that the game was rebranded and removed from Steam for an overhaul.

Pacer may resemble another futurist racing game, Wipeout, from the PlayStation days. And it does for good reason as Wipeout was a huge influence for Pacer. From the vehicles, the teams with their fancy logos, and the crazy fast tracks. R8 Games even has some of the original developers who worked on Wipeout. From what I remember, it played very similar to Wipeout as well – that’s a damned good thing.

I’m looking forward to seeing what’s changed since the last time I’ve played the game so many years ago.

Pacer releases on October 29th, 2020, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
