Balan Wonderworld opening movie released despite the game not releasing until 2021

If the name  Yuji Naka sounds familiar to you, it should be as he’s the same person who blessed us with not only Sonic the Hedgehog but also NiGHTS.

Now he’s working on a game that is giving me some serious NiGHTS vibes, with Balan Wonderworld.  And while the game is still in development and won’t see the light of day until 2021, today Square Enix has released the opening movie.

Check it out below.

Balan Wonderworld is an upcoming platforming game that follows the adventure of two children, Leo Craig and Emma Cole, as they follow the mysterious main character Maestro throughout Balan Wonderworld. While we don’t know the specifics of how it all plays out, and this trailer doesn’t help, we’re told the game takes place via 12 stories. A book is also planned to supplement some of the story elements, as spoken dialogue is not featured in the game.

But seriously, why are those kids just blindly following this guy? That doesn’t seem very safe to me.

Balan Wonderworld will be released on March 26th, 2021, and will be available on the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
