Tawna makes her return in Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Playable demo available next week

By Keith MitchellSeptember 8, 2020

Well, today is turning out to be the day of gaming news reveals, so let’s add one more. Announced by Toys for Bob and Activision is both the return of Tawna to the Crash Bandicoot series and an upcoming playable demo.

First, let’s talk about Tawna, a character we haven’t seen since the first Crash Bandicoot game. Originally showing up as a love interest for Crash, she hasn’t been since seen then, but now she’s back and she’s really changed. No longer the “damsel in distress”, Tawna’s return shows off the character as completely different than we first saw here. Which makes sense as this is an alternate dimension version of the character.

This new Tawna is an adventurer and she appears to be the hero of her own series off in what’s being called the “Tawnaverse”. Not only is she a playable character but she’ll different from what both Crash and Coco can do. By possessing a hook-shot ability, Tawna will be able to make her way through levels with ease, use it to attack enemies, or by using it to break crates from a distance. She also has access to a ground-pound ability, spin kicks, and can even reach out of place locations with a wall jump.

She looks to be an interesting character and I’m more excited about her than using either Crash or Coco. I’m really digging the new design for Tawna as well, she looks like she’s ready to take on the world. Just look at that hair-do.

In addition to the Tawna reveal, it was also announced that Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will also receive a playable demo on September 16, 2020. To gain access to it, you’ll need to pre-order the digital version of the game on either the PlayStation Network or the Xbox Store. We haven’t had a chance to play Crash Bandicoot 4 as of yet, so we’ll be looking forward to the demo as well.

Can’t wait until October 2nd? Pre-order the game digitally and get access to the #Crash4 Demo, available September 16. 🎮 https://t.co/cmaigiEWRq pic.twitter.com/A9QayoXRlT
