Ubisoft Forward: Where to Watch and What to Expect

By Keith MitchellJuly 12, 2020

Later on today, Ubisoft will take to the internet to host its live event called Ubisoft Forward, where the company will talk about its plans for 2020 and beyond. This includes new and upcoming games for the next-generation of consoles, PC, and more. This means we’ll see more on Assassin’s Creed Vahalla, and possibly other titles that were delayed and a handful that hasn’t been announced.

This event comes at a rough time for the company, as there have been several reports of sexual misconduct which has resulted in several employees who have stepped down. This includes the creative director of Assassin’s Creed Vahalla, who is currently on leave why Ubisoft investigates the allegations. I had believed that due to these events and the ugly stain that has left its mark on the company that this event would be canceled. It’s going to be interesting to see what sort of energy will be seen today if this is an actual live event, versus a pre-recorded show.

When will Ubisoft Forward take place

Ubisoft Forward is scheduled for Sunday, July 12, 2020, and will start at the following times.

July 12 – 12 PM PT
July 12 – 3 PM ET
July 12 – 8 PM BST
July 13 – 5 AM AEST

Where to watch

The Ubisoft event will be hosted on several platforms, including Twitch, YouTube, and Ubisoft’s website. In addition to the official channels, you can expect many other outlets to co-stream the event, including us.

What to expect

For starters, we fully expect to see more from Assassin’s Creed Vahalla. They had teased this game early in June, and while we didn’t get the gameplay reveal we were hoping for, we suspect that Ubisoft was saving this for Ubisoft Forward. We also can’t forget about the recent “leak” of Farcry 6, which was followed by a short teaser from the company. What we do already know about the title is that it features Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito who stars as the villain of the game, Anton Castillo. Fans have been waiting on a new Far Cry title, so I expect this to be a large portion of the event.

We can’t forget the delayed Watch Dogs title, Watch Dog Legion, which was originally slated to release this year. However, do to COVID-19 and developmental issues, the company wisely decided to delay the game. We haven’t seen the title or heard on its status since then, so it will be interesting to find out more about it today.

Both Rainbow Six and The Division 2 has been going through some growing pains and I fully expect Ubisoft to tell us what’s coming up next, while their dancing title, Just Dance, is set for yet another installment. There’s also talk about a yet announced game that we could hear about today as well. It’s going to be an interesting show, despite the internal turmoil that’s taking place currently.

Lastly, Ubisoft along with a number of influencers and streamers recently hosted a beta of its new battle royale title, HyperScape. Featuring a unique spin on the BR formula and much faster game compared to other games in the genre, the general reception has been possible. Expect to hear more about this title during the event.

Snag some free stuff

Just for watching the Ubisoft Forward Livestream on either Ubisoft’s website or Uplay, you’ll score a free copy of Watch Dogs 2. Anyone who logs into Uplay or watches on Twitch between 11 AM PT / 2  PM ET / 7 PM BST / 4 AM AEST, will be eligible for the free game. If you’re watching via Twitch, then be sure to link your account. You’ll only need to watch the stream for 1 minute to get access to the game.

In addition to this, there are several other rewards, including an in-game jacket for Watch Dogs Legion, The Division 2, and Assassin’s Creed Vallaha.

  • Watch for 20 minutes for a Watch Dogs Legion in-game jacket
  • Watch for 30 minutes for a The Division 2 Apparel Cache Key Pack
  • Watch for 40 minutes for an Assassin’s Creed Vahalla in-game Clair de Lune Axe

We’ll see you later on today as we cover Ubisoft Forward via our Livestream. We’ll update this article on when you’ll be able to catch our show and chat will us as we report live and provide our colorful reactions.
