‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Season 3 set to premiere on Oct. 15th

By Keith MitchellJuly 28, 2020

Yes, yes, YES! CBS has announced that the third season of ‘Star Trek: Discovery‘ will premiere sooner than expected, on October 15th, 2020.

This announcement comes via a short 15-second teaser that shows Michael Burnham, planting a weather Starfleet Federation flag into some yet announced planet (or moon). While Burnham is wearing some new clothes that don’t look like Starfleet regulation to me. There are 13-episodes for this season.

When season two ended, Michael Burnham and crew had just traveled through a wormhole and transported to some known part and time in space. Thanks to the suit that was created by her parents, the very same suit that mother had been using to watch after Burnham and guide her, now everyone is set to a new adventure in an uncertain future.

I’m pretty excited about this third season and I’ll be honest, I wasn’t much of a Trekkie to start with. Sure, I watched most (if not all) of the Star Trek TV shows and movies, but I never really dabbled in the series like others. And I completely slept on Star Trek Discovery until one day I got bored, and started watching the first season and was HOOKED! Since then I’ve binged both seasons multiple times as I awaited the announcement on when the third season would start.

If you haven’t watched Star Trek: Discovery seasons one or two then now is the perfect time to get caught up in the series while we’re all stuck in our homes. Check it out on CBS on cable, or the CBS All Access streaming service. While you’re doing that, be sure to catch up on ‘Star Trek: Picard‘, which also has a new season releasing later in 2021, as well as ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks‘, a new animated series that focuses on the crew that does the real work; keeping those Starfleet ships running (well mostly).

Are you excited that Star Trek: Discovery Season Three is starting up in just a few months? Let us know in the comments.
