Nintendo Direct Mini Confirms SMTV Is Coming Next Year

By Todd BlackJuly 20, 2020

Fans who have been starving for a Nintendo Direct slightly got their wish granted today as a Nintendo Direct Mini “Partner Showcase” was made and revealed. Though to be clear, no 1st party games were revealed at all.

It revealed 3 DLC packs for Cadence of Hyrule, including a Majora’s Mask theme new story starring Skull Kid. It revealed more about the game Rogue Company, and that WWE Battlegroudns was coming to Switch as well. The big reveals though had to do with 2021, as Shin Megami Tensei 3 is getting a remaster, and we got the first true trailer for Shin Megami Tensei V, which was revealed at the Switch announcement event all the way back in 2017. It too will release in 2021.

Thoughts on this are a bit mixed, because it was an all 3rd party lineup and no real announcements for 2020 were made that many will care about. Leaving many to wonder…has Nintendo just written off 2020?
