Rumor: Fable and Perfect Dark Games in Development

By Henry BuehlerJune 28, 2020

Earlier this week, two accounts were discovered that are connected to the Fable and Project Dark series. They’re placeholder accounts for the IP’s and are reportedly connected to an Xbox employee and a Microsoft email address respectively.

I’m not sure who discovered the @fable and @PerfectDarkGame placeholders, but a Microsoft Xbox employee is following one, and the other is registered to a Microsoft email address 👀 pic.twitter.com/MagqUbPiZf

In a response from Aaron Greenberg, general manager of Xbox Games marketing, he states that it’s a standard procedure to secure social accounts for Microsoft owned IP’s. However, these accounts were made this year. Fable’s last release was Fable Fortune in 2017. Perfect Dark was also rereleased for Xbox 360 in 2010 and included in Rare Replay for the Xbox One. It’s rather strange to make official Twitter accounts for these IP’s in recent months, even though they’ve had relatively recent titles. It’s quite possible they’ll be receiving new iterations on the Series X, since Microsoft has acquired a numerous amount of studios and plans to focus more on exclusives next generation. They also have an Xbox event slated for July.
