Be sure to log into Destiny 2 tomorrow to watch Rasputin blast the Almighty to bits

By Keith MitchellJune 5, 2020

Looks like Bungie is planning to hold an in-game event tomorrow, June 6, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, in which the Warmind Rasputin will finally take aim at the Almighty.

Rasputin is at full power.

You know, that massive warship that players managed to disable at the start of Destiny 2 while taking back their light. Throughout the Season of the Worthy, players have been assisting Rasputin to get back into tip-top shape, so he can blast the Almighty to bits. While we’ve seen several players glitch their way into a devastated Tower, likely caused by the aftermath of the Almighty being lasted to bits, we didn’t know when or how it all would take place. Now we know, and tomorrow is when it all finally happens.

This event has been teased for a while, especially as of late. Players a few weeks back had reported that during certain times during the day, you could see the Almighty from the tower. The image below was taken today, which represents just how close the massive warship is.

Interestingly enough, this would mean that the tower is going to be all jacked up, while Bungie has already started teasing about new events to come. Which is why they’ve already announced something for June 9th, 2020, and we’ve speculated that it’s about those ominous black triangles.

This is also a first for Bungie, and they seem to be emulating what Epic Games has pioneered with making big announcements of what’s to come and doing so in-game. Fortnite has done this several times, with new the changing of map locations and even hosting a concert.

So if you’re interested in what’s going to happen tomorrow, make sure you’re in-game before 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET and at the tower to witness it all. Arrive early, because you never know if the game will start erroring out. Something glorious is about to go down.

Whatever transpires after tomorrow’s events, I sure as heck hope it manages to be better than what we got with Season of the Worthy. I have to be quite honest, I was turned off and I barely logged in to complete my battle pass grind. Fingers crossed.

Destiny 2 is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
