Zangetsu now playable in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Randomizer also available

Bloodstained ritual of the night Zangetsu-01

Zangetsu, the sword-wielding samurai who has a hatred for demons, is finally available via a free DLC for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Voiced by David Hayter, who’s better know as the voice of Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Solid series, Zangetsu’s playstyle is quite different than that of the main character, Mariam. Being honest here, the experience is a bit lackluster as there are no story cutscenes, while the main components of the game, crafting, and the shard system are gone as well.

Still, after playing with Zangetsu, we can see he’s extremely overpowered, thanks to his normal and buffered attacks. He also levels up quickly, much faster than Mairim does. Sadly, Zangetsu isn’t immediately available to play with and you’ll need to meet a requirement to access him. Not worry, we’ve outlined this and more here.

In addition to Zangetsu being released, the new randomizer mode that replaced the scraped roguelike mode has also been released. While you don’t need to have completed the game to access this mode, it is recommended that you do so. With the randomizer, you’re able to change how the game plays by adjusting several settings, as seen in the screenshot below.

As you can see, this does change how the game is played. Key items can be switched around, as well as quests, enemies, and end-game goals. For me, as I’ve already completed the game several times, this doesn’t entice me but it may for you.

Both Zangetsu and the Randomizer mode are free DLC that is available to download for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch versions of Bloodstained.
