Story, Friendship, and RoboCop Are Coming to Mortal Kombat 11

By William "Shadowz" KokMay 6, 2020

We are not done yet, not by a long shot. Released today is the full trailer for the Mortal Kombat 11 Expansion Pass,  Aftermath. Lots of content to unpack here, including the appearance of Alex Murphy( original Peter Weller voice as confirmed by Ed Boon) himself, RoboCop.

So, as you’d imagine, there’s a new bit of story that’s taking place here. As Liu Kang and Raiden are reshaping the future, Shang Tsung of all people, warns the duo. He states that since Kronika’s crown was destroyed, Raiden and Liu Kang cannot restart history. He offers to go to the past to reclaim the crown before the Hourglass is to be destroyed. To say the least, you cannot trust Shang Tsung. It seems Raiden and Liu Kang no other recourse but to go along with this request. From there, the foundation is laid for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath.

Alongside Shang Tsung, we also see another fan-favorite god who is finally playable: Fujin.  Utilizing the winds he can devastate his opponents and fly across the battlefield.

Another returning character and fan-favorite is Sheeva, the current ruler of the Shokan tribe. We’ve only seen her briefly in the main game and many wondered when she would be playable. Seems that fans don’t have to wait much longer.

We then see more of the story content that is to be added. We see Fujin questioning when Shang Tsung would betray again and the events of the original game being changed from Shang Tsung’s actions. Including the change of Sindel being freed from her revenant form.

Features such as stage fatalities and the classic Friendship for characters. The stage fatalities and Friendship will be coming in a free update separate from the expansion pack.

Lastly, we see a character that not many expect to see in the world of Mortal Kombat. The hero of the classic 1987’s RoboCop, Alex Murphy will be coming to face off. We had many guest characters, action heroes and villains make their appearance. With the last season pass of the Terminator, Joker, and Spawn. To see RoboCop make an appearance after the Terminator makes sense since it was debated back then of who was better.

Now we’ll finally be able to pit both Scifi classic heroes against one another in a fighting game. A bit of trivia, the last time those two characters faced off was in the RoboCop Versus The Terminator game (Snes/Genesis) back in 1993-1995.

For those who preorder the expansion pass will receive the “Eternal Klash” Skin pack. This includes classic skins for Sub Zero, Scorpion, and Frost from prior games. There also will be an option to buy the original game with all DLC  packs and expansion pass called the Kollection.

We hope you are all ready to head back to the world of Mortal Kombat 11 again, we sure are!

UPDATE 5:50 PM:

They also released an additional trailer of the story, showing off Shang Tsung gang with an appearance of Erron Black and Baraka.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now and The Aftermath expansion pass is set to be released on May 26, 2020.
