Prepare for Vampires, Christmas, and One Hell of a Ride in ‘NOS4A2’ Season 2

By Sara Roncero-MenendezMay 29, 2020

Joe Hill’s best-selling horror novel NOS4A2 follows kind of a weird premise: a sort-of vampire steals away children who he feels aren’t being appreciated by their parents to a Christmas-themed world, turning them also into vampires and feeding them people. His biggest threat is a poor white girl who can travel to his dimension and a woman of color who can read the future using a magic bag of Scrabble tiles. And yet, it works, which is probably why it’s getting a season 2:

The second season picks up a few years after the first, where Vic McQueen has her kid and is working in an auto-repair shop. Meanwhile, Scrabble-psychic Maggie seems to be doing all right from herself and has chosen to stop using her gift all together. But their lives are about to radically change when Charlie Manx, the child-stealing immortal, awakens from his coma and is coming after Vic’s kid.

Returning to their roles in Season 1 are Zachary Quinto, Ashleigh Cummings, Jahkara Smith, Olafur Darri Olafsson, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Virginia Kull, Jonathan Langdon, Ashley Romans, Jason David, Jonathan Langdon, and Mattea Conforti. The new season will likely deal with the second part of the book, which makes one wonder if this will be the last season. A special alternate ending to the book leaves open the possibility of a continued story, so they might develop it in that direction. The premiere of this season was initially delayed, but it looks like everything is back on track, giving viewers something to enjoy during this pandemic.

NOS4A2 Season 2 premieres on AMC on June 21, 2020.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
