Platinum Games Affirms That Bayonetta 3 Is NOT Canceled

By Todd BlackMay 21, 2020
Bayonetta 3

In the world that we live in today, there’s a lot of expectations about what is supposed to happen with things like movies, video games, TV shows, and more. For video games, when a publisher/developer announces something, the game should come out in a decent time frame, right? Except, we all know that this doesn’t happen. Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Kingdom Hearts III, and for Nintendo Switch gamers…Bayonetta 3.

Bayonetta 3 was announced by Nintendo and Platinum Games at The Game Awards…back in 2017. Since then, there has been NOTHING on the title, at all. Platinum Games has continually said they’re working on it, but have given no indication as to when it will release. Now, gamers are starting to wonder if the title is canceled. Hideki Kamiya went and had a chat with VGC and stated definitively that this is NOT the case:

“I’m on Twitter so I see a lot of comments every day. I’m happy that there’s still anticipation for the title, but one thing I would like to address is the trend I’m seeing which is people who are starting to ask if the game has been cancelled. I want you guys to take any concerns you have like that and throw them out the window immediately because we’re still hard at work on it and it hasn’t been cancelled by any means. Please look forward to it!”

Granted, this still doesn’t state when we CAN expect Bayonetta 3, but at least we know that Kamiya and all of Platinum Games are taking the title very seriously.
