Here’s All the Film/TV Releases and Production Delays due to Coronavirus

The coronavirus continues to spread, forcing people to stay in their homes to keep stop the spread. And that means that lots of industries are taking a hit, including entertainment. So what’s been pushed back so far? Here’s all we know around suspensions and cancellations.

CURRENT AS OF APRIL 26, 2020.

Here’s all the movie releases that have been delayed:

  • No Time to Die
  • Fast and Furious 9
  • Mulan
  • A Quiet Place Part II
  • The New Mutants
  • Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway
  • The Lovebirds
  • Bue Story
  • The Artist’s Wife
  • Antlers
  • Free Guy
  • Jungle Cruise
  • Black Widow
  • Top Gun: Maverick
  • The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run
  • Bob’s Burgers
  • The Eternals

  • The Batman

Here are the film productions that have been delayed:

  • Mission Impossible 7
  • The Nightingale

  • Man from Toronto 

Disney+ has announced the addition of Frozen 2 and Onward to its platform sooner than anticipated to help entertain families. However, as CNN reports, these upcoming movies are not going to streaming services, since it would not help recoup the production costs of the films. 

Productions on TV shows have also stopped. Netflix announced that they were stopping productions in the U.S. and Canada for the next two weeks, including Stranger Things. Warner Bros. also announced that it was suspending production on more than 70 TV shows, whether the shows are for the current season or for pilots. Apple TV+, CBS, NBC, and FX has stopped production as well on its shows. HBO has halted production on The Righteous Gemstones, and delayed the start of production for Season 2 of Euphoria. Sony halted production on The Wheel of Time.
