Xbox’s Phil Spencer confirms that Xbox will be at E3 2020

While Sony has finally confirmed that they will not be making the trek to E3 2020, nor showing the PlayStation 5 at the North American event. Xbox’s Phil Spencer has capitalized on this announcement to confirm that we’ll be able to see at least one next-generation console there.

Our team is hard at work on E3, we look forward to sharing with all who love to play what's ahead for us. Our artform has consistently been propelled by the cross-section of creativity and technical progress. 2020 is a milestone year in that journey for Team Xbox. #XboxE3 #E32020

Originally many had speculated that both Sony and Microsoft would have pulled out of E3. With Sony skipping out last year and Microsoft holding their own event down the road at the Microsoft Theater since 2018. However, Microsoft has only acknowledged they’ll be at E3, but for the moment hasn’t shared their plans for the convention. For all we know, they could do what they did last year; hold the event at the Microsoft Theater and use E3 2020 for consumer/fan-based events.

Either way, one thing that is for sure is that Xbox won’t miss this chance to pitch the Xbox Series X as much as humanly possible. Expect tons of hands-ons, demonstrations and more when E3 2020 finally rolls around this June 2020. As for myself, I haven’t decided if I’ll be making my way to E3 2020 this year. Mainly due to the management restructuring of the ESA, the governing body of the E3 event and the mishandling of our data over the past few years. This is discouraging as I finally was able to attend back in 2017, and I really wanted to go back again.

E3 2020 will take place from June 9-11, 2020 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
