Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses is Smash Bros. Ultimate’s 5th DLC fighter

By Keith MitchellJanuary 16, 2020

Just announced during the Smash Bros. Ultimate’s DLC Livestream, Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, has been revealed as the 5th DLC character.

This character will not only wield multiple weapons; an ax, halberd, and bow. Byleth will also feature both a male and female variation, which was something that was also possible in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Details on how that works haven’t been released as of yet. Byleth will be available as part of the current Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter’s Pass ($24.99), or you can purchase Byleth individually on January 28th for $5.99.

As for the reveal, apparently only a select few at Nintendo even knew who the reveal was going to be. So this reveal was as much of a surprise to them as it was to us. Yes, folks, that makes another Fire Emblem character that has made their way into the game. Byleth now joins Ike, Robin, Roy, Chrome, Lucina, Marth and Corrin. That’s eight characters from the series in total!

More details to come following the Livestream.
