Interview With Brian Volk-Weiss Of The Toys That Made Us Netflix Series

One day, channel surfing on Netflix, I encountered a show called ‘The Toys That Made Us,’ a deep-dive documentary that covered the coveted toys that I and others have held near and dear to our hearts since childhood.

We’re talking about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Hello Kitty, and many more. Spanning three seasons with four episodes, this show resonated with my inner-child, and I simply wanted to know more about the show.

Thanks to a certain PR company, we were lucky enough to speak with Brian Volk-Weiss, the show creator and director. Of course, we jumped at the chance. It was like someone up there wanted us to speak with Brian. I mean, who wouldn’t want to talk to the person who spearheaded an amazing journey into our childhood? Not us, that’s for sure.

In speaking with Brian, we wanted to find out how the show went from being an idea in his head to one of our favorite shows on Netflix. How did it all come about,  what has he planned for the show, and what can we expect next? Yes, we even tried to get as much information as possible regarding The Toys That Made Us Season 4 release date.

We also talked about Brian’s several of his latest projects. First is a spin-off called ‘The Movies That Made Us,’ which is out on Netflix and covers childhood movies such as Home Alone, Ghostbusters, Die Hard, and Dirty Dancing. If you enjoyed Toys That Made Us, definitely give this new show a watch. The other is a show called ‘Behind the Attraction,’ a show about theme parks that will air on Disney +. Brian will be directing, and he’ll have some company in the form of Dwayne “Rock” Johnson tagging along.

Check out our interview with Brian Volk-Weiss below.

A big thanks to Hannah Schwartz for making this all possible and Brian Volk-Weiss for taking time out of his busy schedule.
