Capcom Officially Confirms Resident Evil 3; Releases On April 3rd 2020 (PS4/Xbox One/PC)

Resident Evil 3 is real and it has a release date…. STARS!!!!

Update: Added several screenshots that Capcom was nice enough to send our way.

Following the leak of the Resident Evil 3 cover art on the PlayStation Network, and countless rumors that the game has been in development for some time. Capcom has officially announced that Resident Evil 3 is real, during today’s State of Play. Resident Evil 3 will release on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3rd, 2020

Wasting no time, Capcom and Sony started the hype machine by showing off a trailer of iconic RE3 characters, Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveria in action. Smack in the middle of zombie central, or otherwise known as Raccoon City. There was also a very quick look at Nemesis and he looks like he’s going to be quite the handful. If you thought Mister X. in RE2 was bad, you’re in for a treat.

Just like Resident Evil 2, this remake takes the best parts of Resident Evil 3, adds some new game mechanics, and brings the flagship title into the modern-day. To tell you that I’m excited that we’ll have our hands on the game in just four months. Well, hell I’m hyped.  Hopefully, Capcom will show off the game at the upcoming PAX South 2020 and PAX East 2020.

Oh, and a nice bonus was that Project Resistance, the asymmetrical 4 versus 1 multiplayer title that Capcom has been testing and showing off. That’s going to be bundled with Resident Evil 3 when it releases.

Check out the trailer for Resident Evil 3 below and then start counting down the days until it gets released. I know I will be. Oh, and if the trailer confuses you with Resident Evil 2 being shown and then the clock counting down backward. There’s a reason for that. The Resident Evil timeline is weird (just like Streetfighter) and Resident Evil 3 takes place before the events in RE2.

Damn, I can’t wait.

Screenshots added below. Be careful, they are glorious.
