Mega Man Games Hit Sales Milestones

By Josh PiedraNovember 9, 2019
Mega Man 11

Good news for Mega Man fans who were worried that the latest releases from Capcom wouldn’t fare so well in today’s market. Mega Man producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya announced on Twitter that Mega Man 11 has surpassed 1 million sales!

In addition, Mega Man Legacy Collection 1&2 reached 2 million units while Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1&2 reached 1.4 million units. Despite these efforts, both Legacy Collections do not appear on Capcom’s Platinum Titles list. This would lead one to believe that these are total sales while each individual game is being counted separately, meaning that each title has sold less than a million copies individually.

Still, this gives Mega Man fans hope of future entries in the series. Capcom is getting ready to release Rockman X DiVE on mobile at some point this year, there are crossover events planned for Mega Man x Dragalia Lost, and new Mega Man X cards in Capcom’s Community Card Game, TEPPEN. Still, fans wonder if there will be most main series titles such as a Mega Man X9, Mega Man 12, Mega Man Legends 3, or perhaps a Mega Man Star Force 4. Regardless of what gets made, the future does look promising for the Blue Bomber!

Personally, I wouldn’t mind a Mega Man Battle Network Collection on Nintendo Switch!
