Introducing Everwild, Rare’s Newest IP

By Diego PerezNovember 14, 2019
Everwild

Yesterday, industry analyst Daniel “ZhugeEX” Ahmad tweeted that X019 would feature new IPs from both Rare and Obsidian. The show opened with a bang as we got our first look at Everwild, Rare’s next game. Check out the trailer below.

While there isn’t a date for Everwild, it will launch day and date on Xbox Game Pass, just like every other Xbox Games Studios title. It seems to be a departure from Sea of Thieves, but it isn’t necessarily a callback to Rare’s older 3D platformers like Banjo-Kazooie, either. Whatever it turns out to be, it looks drop-dead gorgeous, even rivaling the upcoming Ori and the Will of the Wisp‘s visuals in some scenes. With Xbox Scarlett on the way (but sadly not making an appearance at X019), early to mid 2020 seems like a safe bet for Everwild.

When he's not playing video games, Diego's talking about video games, and he does both a lot.
