PlayStation Now receives a huge price cut and several popular PS4 games

By Keith MitchellOctober 1, 2019
PS Now

While normal for  services constantly raising their prices, so when a service gets a price drop, it’s worth mentioning. Which is exactly what Sony has done for PlayStation Now, by giving the cloud streaming service a nice price drop as of October 1st, 2019.

In fact, the service has seen a 50% price drop on the monthly, quarterly and annual costs.

  • Unites States:
    • currently $9.99 monthly, previously $19.99
    • currently $24.99 quarterly, previously $44.99
    • currently $59.99 yearly, previously $99.99
  • Canada:
    • currently $12.99 monthly, previously $19.99
    • currently $34.99 quarterly, previously $44.99
    • currently $79.99 yearly, previously $99.99
  • Europe:
    • currently €9.99 monthly, previously €14.99
    • currently €24.99 quarterly
    • currently €59.99 yearly, previously €99.99
  • UK:
    • currently £8.99 monthly, previously £12.99
    • currently £22.99 quarterly
    • currently £49.99 yearly, previously £84.99
  • Japan:
    • currently ¥1,180 monthly, previously ¥2,500
    • currently ¥2,980 quarterly, previously ¥5,900
    • currently ¥6,980 yearly

In addition to this, four new games to the service have been added;  God of War, Grand Theft Auto V, inFAMOUS Second Son, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. However, it would seem that this is just temporary as these games look to be removed from PS Now as of January 2nd, 2020. To that, Sony has promised we’ll see more marquee games added every month. Let’s see if they can keep the momentum going.

It would seem that Sony has been listening to the complaints of PS Now and looking at the success of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. While these changes are a nice welcome, they’re still a far cry from what the fans want. Specifically newer PS4 games, as well as older PlayStation 1 and 2 games being added. Previously Sony added the ability to download games (PS4 only) so players won’t have to rely on the streaming-only option.

If you’ve been thinking about checking out the service, now is the perfect time to do so. Or you can sign up for a 7-day trial, here.
