Legend Of Zelda Link’s Awakening Sells Massive 3.13 Million Units So Far

By Todd BlackOctober 31, 2019
Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening

The Legend Of Zelda Link’s Awakening was one of the biggest surprises for the Nintendo Switch in 2020.

The beloved game that came from the Game Boy era was ushered in during a Nintendo Direct and said that it would come in 2020, only for it to come out surprisingly in September. When it arrived gamers were floored by the beautiful recreation, so much so that it has sold 3.13 million units within the first 10 days of its launch.

This comes from Nintendo via its latest financial numbers. That almost immediately puts Legend Of Zelda Link’s Awakening in the upper tier of games sold on the console, especially when you consider what might happen sales-wise when October and the final two months of the year are considered.

Granted, Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild has an 11 million unit gap on Link’s Awakening at present, but over time that could get whittled down due to the more “pocket-sized” nature of the game. This also spells good news for those who want an original 2D Zelda on the Nintendo Switch, which could “buy time” until Breath of the Wild 2 comes out.

Until then, be sure to check out our review of Link’s Awakening and tell us what you think of its sales!
