Crunchyroll Announces Konosuba Encore & New Co-Production

By Josh PiedraOctober 4, 2019

Today at New York Comic-Con, Crunchyroll had some good news for KONOSUBA fans. Due to popular demand, Crunchyroll in conjunction with Fathom Events, will be adding an additional date for Crunchyroll Movie Nights’ latest feature: KONOSUBA- Legend of Crimson. This event, which will take place in over 600 theatres across the country on November 12, is already selling out nationwide! To ensure fans everywhere can catch the new film, Crunchyroll and Fathom Events have added an encore presentation on November 14.

Tickets for the encore presentation will be available at FathomEvents.com starting October 18. This will be fan’s chance to join Kazuma and party as they set out on a new adventure to Crimson Demon village, Megumin’s hometown, where they are faced with their greatest threat yet!

You can check out the KONOSUBA trailer below:

That wasn’t the only announcement at this year’s NYCC! Crunchyroll also announced a new Co-Production entitled Woodpecker Detective’s Office.

Crunchyroll describes Woodpecker Detective’s Office as follows:

It is the end of the Meiji Era.

The genius poet Ishikawa Takuboku, who’s struggling financially, starts a detective business out of his lodging in response to a certain murder case.

He calls it the Woodpecker Detective’s Office.

“The ghosts of the Twelve-Story Tower in Asakusa,” “the man-eating figure who wanders the streets on snowy nights”…

Takuboku involves himself in one bizarre case after another with his hometown acquaintance, Kindaichi Kyosuke, as his assistant.

Other literary men such as Nomura Kodo, Yoshii Isamu, Hagiwara Sakutaro, and Wakayama Bokusui are also dragged into Takuboku’s exploits as he races all around Tokyo at the height of Westernization!

The anime is set to premiere in the Spring of 2020. A key visual for the show has been provided by Crunchyroll which you can view below:
