Capcom quietly announces Resident Evil 7 prequel Walkthrough the Fear

A VR experience and it’s limited to Japan

While everyone is aware that Capcom is working on a multiplayer co-op Resident Evil title. Apparently that’s not the only game in the series they’re working on.

However, it’s also a game that many people may not get access to. According to multiple sources, Capcom is reading a Resident Evil 7 prequel called “Walkthrough The Fear”. This game is supposedly only 40 minutes long and features Jack Baker and several other characters who are trapped in a basement and need to find a way out. It’s also a VR experience.

Here’s where things get odd. This game is only playable at Plaza Capcom Ikebukuro VR-X booth in Tokyo this October 26. Which happens to be a dedicated VR section within the Plaza and the same place Capcom had hosted Biohazard Valiant Raid a few months back.

This also means that a large junk of Resident Evil fans won’t have access to this. There’s no word if this will eventually become available elsewhere.

We’ve reached out to Capcom to see if there is a possibility that that outside of Japan will get a chance to play this game.
