Bluepoint Games confirms they are working on a PlayStation 5 game

But is it Demon’s Souls?

We’ve known for a while that Bluepoint Games has been working on a remaster of an existing game for quite some time. Except they haven’t told anyone outside of the company what it is.  With all of the big PlayStation 5 news dropping today, the company shared some news that whatever it is they’re working on is also a PlayStation 5 game.

According to Wired, Bluepoint has confirmed they have access to a PS5 development kit and that they are working on a big PS5 game. Marco Thrust, the president of the company teased “We’re working on a big one right now. I’ll let you figure out the rest”.

For the longest time, many had assumed that Bluepoint had been working on a remake or remaster of Fromsoftware’s Demon’s Souls. Seeing the magic they pulled off with the remake of Shadow of the Colossus, many had hoped they would do the same for Fromsoftware’s cult classic. Earlier this year, Bluepoint mentioned they were working on a ‘Re-Envisioning’ of a previous game during GDC 2019. Since then we haven’t heard anything from the company, that is until today.

I’m still hoping that whatever the game is they are working on, that it is Demon’s Souls. Can you imagine that? Demon’s Souls, running on the PS5 at 1080p and 60FPS? Sure, you can already do that now thanks to RPCS3. Yet not everyone has a high powered PC to do so or wants to mess around with making that possible when they can just press the power button and play the game.

Here’s to hoping it is Demon’s Souls.
