Sonic Probably in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD

By Henry BuehlerSeptember 24, 2019

A trophy list for the upcoming Super Monkey Ball game, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD, has appeared online. Multiple trophy descriptions specifically reference Sega’s Mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog, as a playable character.

The trophy “Way Past Cool”-a reference to the Sonic cartoon, Sonic Underground, is unlocked for clearing a stage as Sonic the Hedgehog. The trophy Monkey Business is unlocked for changing the costumes of any character except Sonic and clearing a stage with each of them.

Sega has yet to officially confirm Sonic as playable but they’ve released multiple trailers and pieces of information about the game, such as motion controls being removed, and the game being at 1080p/60 FPS, HD visuals.

The Japanese Twitter account for Super Monkey Ball has also been answering fan questions and tweeting out bits of new information, such as a newly remixed track for World 9.

Today we introduce a new BGM with the World 9 debut.
This is a world where thunder strikes, so we prepared an electronic background music! Please enjoy the sound changing from groovy to on beat using the technique called side chain which is often used in dance music!#sega pic.twitter.com/m8CRORgUWN
