Playable Nioh 2 open beta starting November 1st

For those of you that weren’t selected to get some hands-on with the Nioh 2 closed alpha, you’re in luck. Announced today via the PlayStation Twitter account, there’s going to be an open beta for Nioh 2. Starting on November 1st and up until 10th, the Nioh 2 beta will give everyone access to the game.

Other than the beta release date, there wasn’t any new information released for what can be expected in this beta. While many have speculated that this will simply be the same as the closed alpha, just finally everyone to everyone. More than likely, this beta is going to be the same demo that was used using the 2010 Tokyo Game Show.

In any event, I’m not complaining as I’ve been waiting to get some hands-on with the game. I was a huge fan of the first Nioh and double-dipped on the PS4 and PC versions. I plan on running through this demo multiple times and seeing as much as I can.

New to Nioh 2 is the ability to create a custom character. Something that was sorely missed in the first game, not that William wasn’t a nice character. The game is supposedly going to be a lot harder, as stated by Team Ninja’s Creative Director Tom Lee. According to Lee, “the gloves are off” and “we’re gonna go in hard”. There are also a few things the team wanted to do in the first outing but weren’t able to. Expect to see those man an appearance in Nioh 2. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see what they have in store. Bring it on Team Ninja! Do, your, worst!

Nioh 2 is slated to release on the PlayStation 4, and no other platforms have been announced as of yet.
