No HDR support for Control at launch, PC settings shown

We’re a few days away from the launch of Remedy’s Control for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. However, if you’re looking to play the game in HDR goodness, you may be disappointed as HDR support won’t be available at launch.

According to the brand community manager of 505 Games, Lucas Liaskos, no version of the game will include HDR.

No HDR in any version of Control. PS4 Pro and Xbox One X have enhanced features, yes. All console versions run at 30fps.

As for why HDR support is ready at launch, it could a number of reasons. Maybe the HDR implementation just wasn’t up to par, or perhaps Remedy just wanted more time to work on it. Whatever the reason, I can see several HDR fans upset over the news.

In some more uplifting news, a video surfaced that shows the settings found in the PC version of Control. Looks like the full suite of graphical settings shown, as well a look at the ray tracing options.

Control releases on August 27th, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
