Check your email for a free copy of PlayStation 4’s Astrobot

Be sure to check your email if you’ve registered with Sony Interactive Entertainment in the past, as they’re giving away free copies of Astrobot Recuse Mission. As reported by Reddit user “XarmtheinsaneX”, who found the email this morning.

This isn’t unheard of as PlayStation has been known to randomly give out copies of games and discount codes in the past.

There doesn’t seem to be any specific reason as to why PlayStation is handing out free copies. It’s also a random thing, there aren’t any requirements that we’re aware of as to who gets a copy or not. Looking over the thread where this was reported, several users had received a copy of the game. Some with PSVR, some without. So again, there’s no logic behind Sony Interactive Entertainment’s good gesture.

It doesn’t look like I was one of the lucky ones that received a copy of the game, but that’s ok. I had already purchased Astrobot the moment I played the demo and after my kids had pleaded that we get it. Should you end up being gifted a copy, please play it That said, you will need the PlayStation VR headset to play it.

Astrobot Recuse Mission was released for the PSVR on October 2nd, 2018 and since then has been an amazing experience for the headset. Think of Super Mario in 3D, but replace him with a cutesy robot. Toss in some well-crafted words, a super perky soundtrack, and you got a contender for the PSVR experience so far.
