WayForward And Trigger Team Up For Animated Shantae 5 Intro

Shantae 5 Teaser Artwork

Back in March 2019, WayForward Technologies announced that they had started production on Shantae 5. Which I’m sure more than a few of you were happy upon hearing the news.

Well, it gets better as WayForward recently announced that the animation studio TRIGGER would be working on a brand new opening for the title. Yep, the very same studio behind created ‘Little Witch Academia’, ‘Black Rock Shooter’ and ‘Kill La Kill’. I don’t know about you, but being a fan of their works. I can already envision what sort of epic opening animation it’s going to be.

We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with the amazing folks at @trigger_inc, who will be creating a brand-new opening animation for Shantae 5! We'll have more details soon; for now, here's a sneak peek at some production artwork! pic.twitter.com/KkTy0hxH0y

As the tweet mentions, there isn’t anything to show outside of some production artwork. However, WayForward will provide an update on this in the near future. That said, I’m sure someone is going to make a comment on the style of Shantae and Risky Boots. Despite these pieces of artwork are likely early drafts. So to them, I say, just wait until we get the final material then make a judgment. Alright?

As for Shantae 5, WayForward has been pretty quiet regarding the title. The only thing we know about it so far is that it will be released on the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and Apple Arcade. According to the company, the wait for Shantae 5 won’t be nearly as long as it was for Shantae 4. That said, they’re aiming for a late 2019 release date for all platforms announced.
