During its panel at Anime Expo, Studio Trigger announced that they are teaming up with director Yoh Yoshinari, who was responsible for Little Witch Academia, to produce a brand-new original anime series called BNA – Brand New Animal. Kazuki Nakashima, who was responsible for Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann, has been signed onto the project to produce the script for the series.
While a concrete release date is not set, it was announced that the anime will air in 2020.
