Blazing Chrome launches on July 11th

Blazing Chrome, an upcoming 2D side-scrolling shooter that brings back all those lovely memories from Contra now has a release date. Scheduled for a July 11th release, for the PS4, Xbox, Switch, and PC. Oh, how I’ve waited for this news.

For those who haven’t heard of the game, it’s pretty much a spiritual successor to Konami’s Contra games. Especially Contra: Hardcorps from the Sega Genesis. If you’ve loved those sorts of games then Blazing Chrome is calling your name. And even if you haven’t, it’s a fun game though it may induce a bit of rage as well.

I had the pleasure of playing the game during PAX 2018 and I couldn’t get enough it. I swear the person who was running the demo was getting tired of me asking when this game was releasing. Sorry, not sorry, but good games my friend. As for you, you can expect some local co-op couch gaming, lots of action, some off the wall boss battles and lots of fun. I know, there’s no online co-op, so go ahead and get it out of your system. This game emulates old school gaming, and the was no online co-op back then.

There’s currently no pricing for the game yet, but I imagine it will be priced at $19.99. We’ve reached out to the Arcade Crew to see if they’ll provide that piece of info. Lastly, if you’re a member of Xbox Game Pass, you’ll be able to play Blazing Chrome the moment it is released. Can’t beat that, can ya?

Damn, I can’t wait to play this again.
