An update coming to Apple TV revealed that the platform will allow the support for Xbox One and PlayStation controllers! This is being done in order to support the previously announced Apple Arcade. Apple Arcade is looking to launch for Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, and Mac. That service is due to launch this fall as a subscription-based library of premium games on Apple platforms, including some developed exclusively for Apple Arcade.
Apple TV wasn’t the only device getting the update. Any Apple device that runs tvOS 13 or iOS 13 will be able to make use of a PS4 or Xbox One controller.
No details as to when the update will roll out but we would assume it would be before the launch of Apple Arcade.
